Tips for a Reflection Practice
Jennifer Lotz | DEC 17, 2024

As 2024 is wrapping up it is natural to reflect on things accomplished and adventures that you experienced over the past 12 months. There were holidays, trips, shows and dinners with friends. Some years, so much has happened (good and bad) that it is hard to count it all. I find that when I set aside time to be intentional about an annual reflection, I come away feeling grateful, blessed and sometimes surprised at how much has happened!
Here are a few tips to use if you would like to create your own intentional reflection practice:
#1 - schedule it! Set aside 30-60 minutes uninterrupted time.
#2 - find a comfy chair and blanket, grab a favorite beverage, pen, notebook, calendar and phone(to scroll through photos). Maybe even sitting by the fire:)
#3 - go through your calendar and photos and note the places and friends you visited by month(or season). Note movies you saw, books you read, classes you took or new skills you learned. The list is endless here. Get detailed!
#4 - ask yourself these questions, "In what ways do I feel I have changed this year? How has that impacted my life?" - and - "What new skills or knowledge did I learn? How has that changed me?" also - "What did I do just for fun?"
#5 - have fun with this and let me know how it goes!
