Sedona Yoga Festival 2023

Sedona, Arizona is one of our favorite places to visit. With Views like this, who can blame us?
I was delighted to learn that Sedona is home to a Yoga festival that celebrated it's 10 year anniversary this year. Of course, I had to check it out.
Over 2 days time I was able to take part in 6 sessions throughout the festival. The experience proved to be educational and allowed for some rest and recovery. The rest and recovery piece was important because this event was piggy-backed with a long overdue vacation.
I learned from teacher trainer Rachel Scott in two separate sessions the method she uses for theming yoga classes and the method she uses to build online courses. She is a fun and energetic person and It was such a pleasure to meet her and listen in on her wealth of knowledge and experience.
I sat in on an anatomy session with Jane Stauggard-Jones just scratching the surface of all she has studied about the "Vital Psoas" Decades worth of education was condensed into a 2 hour session that felt a bit like drinking water from a fire hose:)
I took part in a class named "Awakening Flow" led by Taylor Wray. Such a fun and moving experience. As I've previously written about "tears on a yoga mat" - this class will awaken the tears if you allow them.
Danni Pomplun led a "Permission to Chill" session with live music and a dark room out of the heat. What a treat to learn from him on techniques he uses for rest, recovery and strengthening. The music wasn't bad either:)
Dianne Bondhi led a class titled "Yoga Where You Are- Guided Accessible Yoga Class". Her mission is to make yoga accessible to all body types and all demographics. She is smart, funny and knowledgable. I am excited to apply what I've learned from her as I plan my next classes.
What a wonderful experience this has been. Until we meet again, Sedona. xoxo
