How a Mindset Shift Helped Me Stop Giving Up

wellness: daily commitment: yoga: health and wellness

Committing to something daily can feel overwhelming.

Sometimes it can be so overwhelming that I give up before I've really gotten started!

Especially when I miss a day or two doing the thing that I told myself that this time I was going to stick with it.

When I decided to commit to a daily yoga practice, I knew that I had to look at what that yoga practice would look like in a different way.

I knew that it was not sustainable for me to drive to a Studio for a 75 minute class every single day of the week. I LOVE a studio practice, sharing space in community with others but that kind of daily commitment doesn't fit my life at this time.

So what then, would my daily yoga practice look like? What could I sustain?

My daily minimum looked like this: 10 minutes every single day no matter how I felt, no matter what else was going on, and no matter what time of day I could get to it.

I could do that. I could do 10 minutes, no matter what was going on and no matter where I happened to find myself. And do you know how often I practiced for only 10 minutes? Rarely. Nine out of ten times, my daily practice was 20-45 minutes. Every single day.

Y’all. I learned to practice yoga in some weird places. My bathroom, the back of a horse trailer, and even in the narrow aisle of our camper.

But I was committed.

And through that commitment, I gained strength and flexibility. But more importantly, I gained new confidence and trust in myself.

THAT is what a commitment of 10 minutes a day can do.

What 10 minute, daily commitment would change your life? I would love for you to share! Respond to this email and let me know!

I can't wait to hear from you!

xoxo
